PORTES Battle – Greek Backgammon at Full Speed!
ATHENS COFFEE FESTIVAL 2025, the country’s leading coffee event, added a special touch of tradition and entertainment this year by hosting a unique backgammon tournament under the auspices of the Hellenic Federation of Traditional Backgammon.
Throughout the festival, visitors had the chance to participate in thrilling backgammon matches, test their skills against players of all levels, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Greece’s most beloved game of strategy and luck.
With the sound of dice rolling blending with the aroma of freshly roasted coffee, backgammon became a vibrant hub of connection, challenge, and enjoyment—offering moments of excitement, friendly rivalry, and authentic Greek tradition.
Everyone who played was entered into a draw for the grand prize: a handcrafted backgammon set worth €100, generously offered by Manopoulos, a company renowned for its high-quality, aesthetically refined board games.
